Do you want to have fun?

The Nigloland theme park, in Dolancourt, is the best French theme park in its category (less than one million visitors). This exceptional family park will win you over with both the quality of its rollercoasters as well as the beauty of its wooded setting. And the icing on the cake is that you will receive a discount on your Nigloland entrance tickets if you buy them at the Hôtel des Sources reception desk!
Route touristique du Champagne - Aube

On the way to Nigloland, don’t forget to stop at the Grands Lacs de Champagne. It's a group of three vast bodies of water (Lac d’Orient, Lac du Temple and Lac Amance) where you can take part in every conceivable water sport: sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, motorboating, water skiing, jet skiing etc. But perhaps you would prefer to fish or simply swim on the fine sandy beaches, in the middle of the protected countryside, as the Grands Lacs de Champagne are nestled in the heart of the Regional Nature Park of the Orient forest. Football fans shouldn’t miss out on a visit to the Stade de l'Aube, where Estac footballers play in Ligue 1. For opposing fans who have to make a long trip to support their favourite team, the Hôtel des Sources will allow them to recover before returning home.

Do you want to go for a walk ?

The city of Troyes in Champagne is renowned for the splendour of its historic centre, built in the Middle Ages and during the Renaissance. There are still many half-timbered houses, superbly restored and now bursting with colour. The past has bequeathed Troyes many churches, including two gothic gems: its cathedral and its basilica. Troyes’ appeal also lies in the priceless richness of its cultural heritage, which several museums that have made its reputation in France and even beyond its borders are committed to preserving: the Museum of Modern Art, the Maison de l’Outil et de la Pensée ouvrière, Cité du Vitrail etc.
But it’s the region of Aube as a whole which is well worth a visit. Côte des Bar and Colline de Montgueux are both covered with vines producing the famous Champagne, and there are many cellars open to visitors; but also Pays d’Othe, a rolling green region, almost still wild, renowned for its cider.

Aube is also home to magnificent villages labelled as “Petite Cité de Caractère” (Small Cities of Character): Bar-sur-Seine, Ervy-le-Châtel, Mussy-sur-Seine and Les Riceys with its three PDO wines, but also Essoyes (immortalised by the painter Renoir, who is buried there), which is in the process of being approved. Aube still has a wealth of heritage treasures, like the Cistercian Abbey of Clairvaux and the Camille-Claudel museum in Nogent-sur-Seine. If you like great men, visit the Napoleon museum in Brienne-le-Château (the French emperor spent a large part of his schooling there) and the village of Colombey-les-Deux Eglises in Haute-Marne, where Charles de Gaulle had his second home (La Boisserie) and where he is buried. The memorial and a giant Cross of Lorraine keep alive the memory of the former President of the Republic, liberator of France. Finally, don’t forget that Paris is only an hour and a half away by train, and only a little longer by car.
